well, that was a slog and a half.

i reinstalled my proxmox server this time around i installed a vanilla debian server.

this was so i could set up a different partition layout than the default proxmox installer allows.

what’s different this time?

because i’m using domestic grade gear, i don’t have access to array controllers..

no array controlers is a problem, so i need soft-raid.. i chose mdraid.

so?

with mdraid i can endure a drive failure with significantly more grace than last time.

i learned a lot about rescuing a system when part of the disk isn’t responding..

thankfully i don’t appear to have had data loss, but i’m rebuilding my vm’s as a precaution

rebuild?

yeah, i need to get my ansible build scripts anyway

so, yeah
